Summer Camps
YWCA Camp is a character building, team activity oriented, sports-based camp. We promote a healthy, sustainable, simplistic lifestyle as part of our core values. Individual campers’ personalities are put to the test, with challenging games and puzzles which they have to work on as a team in order to stand a chance at winning. There are various brain games that test campers’ knowledge, intelligence and attention to detail.
For the duration of the Y Camp, campers go through numerous activities that allow campers of different interests to excel, and further develop skills and knowledge. We celebrate diversity and individuality of campers. We believe every camper adding in their unique perspective is beneficial to everybody involved. All campers are welcome to join!
Every camp has a theme; an idea, philosophy or area of knowledge that is presented throughout the entire camp. The leaders research the theme in order to get it across to the campers in an exciting way. Themes range from accepting those who are different, accepting yourself as the unique person you are, to encouraging discovering new things and learning about different topics. Camps also have different camp games, which are played through the different activities of the Y Camp. The unit which wins the camp game is declared the winner of this camp!
The leaders (camp counselors) are a volunteer group of former campers. We work very hard on planning fun activities, as well as passing on the Y Camp spirit to the younger generation!
